More Updates

Since today is my last day of my internship, the office took me to lunch at Florida Hospital's Lakeside cafe. It was lovely.

The Florida hospital foundation is a lovely place to intern. The staff is really wonderful and welcoming. If anyone is questions wheather to work for Florida Hospital I would say I highly recommend it.

Updates

Today at my internship I was able to work on Raiser's edge to input some new information on nationwide business's. These businesses were ones that had some of the highest amounts in philanthropy giving.

Also as a foundation we took a trip over the cancer institute where a name plating was taking place. There was a very large donation that was given toward the children's oncology department. This was a very large deal for Florida Hospital and the Children's Institute. It was very special that I got to be a part of it.

More Updates

Another project I have been working on for over a month now is finally done! The greeting cards for Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiology, Childrens, Shares, East Orlando, Winter Park, Celebration, Orlando and Apopka are finally done. I have created all of these from scratch using photo shop and with the help of Florida Hospital's creative team and marketing department. I have had to go through dozens of pictures and learn how to place and design logos to fit each card. It has been a lot of work, but it is very rewarding to finally look at a finished product. This internship experience is a very rewarding one.

Today at my Internship I worked on my prayer partner letters. This is a project that I have been doing all semester long. Donors selected randomly through our sort system on raisers edge have been selected to have hand written cards sent to them stating the day our foundatin will be praying for their continued health and happiness. There is one family each day at 8:15am that we as a foundation will pray for. Each family has the oppertunity to send us back a special request card with any requests they may have. It is a very beneficial program for both the foundation and the donors, it keeps the relationships fresh and ongoing.

Updates

Currently I have been working on a new project for the Foundation. I am putting together new thank you cards for each division of the hospital. I have been sorting through various photo albums and looking for eye catching photos to work with through photo shop.

It has been a very unique project and one that is also very rewarding. There are quite a few divisions such as Diabetes, Cancer, Children's, the campus's, Shares, the College and the greatest need fund. Each has a distinct logo and picture that it represents. I have had the opportunity to design each card and place the logo's through photo shop.

Through this process I have worked with the Florida Hospital Creative design team, the foundation, and also the Events department. It has been a lot of fun meetings so many new people and learn new programs such as photo shop. I will update on my next project!

Internship Experience

Florida Hospital Foundation

Hi, My name is Robyn Lloyd and I am a senior HSA major. I got started on my internship early and have been working there a little more than a month now. So far, it has been a really great experience and everyday I continue to learn a little bit more.

The Florida Hospital Foundation is a part of the hospital that really interests me, they are the behind the scenes base to allowing different sections of the hospital to flourish and grow. They provide events, have annual funds, and other campaigns for different individuals needs as well as the overall greatest needs the hospital faces.

So far I have been able to learn about and work closely with the Foundation's annual fund, as well as the celebrity stroll that took place last month. It has been a great experience to learn about making phone calls, witness gift signings and listen in on executive meetings for the Diabetes board.

This past week I have been working on organizing candidates for the annual fund and helping to keep the Raisers Edge system updated. I have also been working on organizing raffle tickets and learning about calling for the annuals funds.

I will keep my blog updated weekly on the new things I am learning with the foundation. I hope everyone has a great semester!
